The Rusakov Municipal Workers' Union Club by architect Konstantin Melnikov, known as the 'cogwheel house', is one of the most unusual structures in Moscow. Recognised as a world masterpiece of avant-garde architecture, the building dates from the period when, in the first three decades of the twentieth century, Russian and Soviet art played a leading role in the international artistic process.
